Whatever your taste in rugs, they are mostly used to provide a feature in a room or a hall. As with fitted carpets, rugs will trap grit and dirt in the fibres which needs to be removed periodically by professional cleaning otherwise they will wear it prematurely. As the rug becomes dirty the colours also become less vibrant with the soiling and your feature starts to look tired, especially the cotton fringes if the rug has them.
Fringes are very susceptible to damage. They are often bleached white before the rug goes on sale and the bleaching weakens the cotton. They then wear through walking on them, the dog chewing on them and most commonly, getting caught in the vacuum cleaner. Particular care is needed where fringes are showing signs of wear.
We prefer to take rugs away for cleaning wherever possible and we generally aim to return them within 7-10 days. This allows us to work in controlled conditions and gives us more time to work on them in stages and bring them back to you dry and ready to use.
Modern rugs can often be cleaned in situ in your home, especially if we're doing some other work for you but generally we still prefer to take them away for cleaning if possible as it means less disruption for you.
Have a look at the video of this newly cleaned rug to see how much soiling we extracted from it.
Rug cleaning is not a DIY job!

Very helpful and lovely clean carpet and rug.

We had a spill on a rug that needed urgent attention. Jeff came as soon as he could, although he had to abandon his holiday packing, and dealt with the stain efficiently and professionally. I was so impressed with Jeff that I arranged for him to return, after his holiday, and clean three of our downstairs rugs and the stair carpet. The hall is transformed and our rugs are brighter and restored to their original colours.
I won't mention the colour of the cleaning water - I blame the dog!!
Jeff is knowledgeable, professional and thoroughly approachable - highly recommended.
